COLUMBIA, Mo. - The No. 18 University of Missouri soccer team closed out the regular season with an impressive 6-0 victory win over Border Showdown rival Kansas on Senior Night at Walton Stadium. The victory gives Mizzou (13-5-0, 7-3-0) the program high for overall and conference wins during the regular season. The win also marked the largest margin of victory for the Tigers in Big 12 play.

Senior Mo Redmond and sophomore Alysha Bonnick both recorded five points against the Jayhawks, as each posted two goals and an assist, while junior Kristin Andrighetto added two assists.

The Tigers jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the ninth minute when Redmond and Bonnick combined for a goal on Mizzou's first shot of the game. Redmond headed a ball toward to an oncoming Bonnick, who powerfully headed her shot to the far post and into the net.

In the 33rd minute, junior Michelle Collins tallied her sixth goal of the year on a pinpoint pass from senior Kat Tarr. Stationed just on the edge of the box, Tarr sailed a cross into the box that Collins headed past the Kansas goalkeeper for a 2-0 Tiger lead.

Seven minutes later, freshman Mallory Stipetich gathered a loose ball in the box and knocked a low shot into the net to give Mizzou a 3-0 advantage. The goal was the third of the year for Stipetich.

Redmond and Bonnick combined again in the 47th minute to score Missouri's fourth goal of the game. Bonnick passed a ball back to Redmond, who one-timed an 18-yard blast into the left netting as the Tigers improved their lead to 4-0.

Redmond struck again just one minute later as she headed home a corner kick from Andrighetto for a commanding 5-0 Tiger advantage. It was the third goal of the year for Redmond.

Bonnick added Mizzou's final goal in the 55th minute when she ran down a pass from Andrighetto and chipped an 18-yard shot over the Jayhawk keeper. The tally was Bonnick's team-leading ninth of the season while Andrighetto recorded her fourth assist of the year.

The Tigers outshot Kansas 31-13, including a 15-6 advantage in shots on goal. Goalkeepers Tasha Dittamore and Mallory Forst combined for the shutout and made four and two saves, respectively.

Mizzou closes the regular season in third place in the Big 12 Conference and will face six-seed and No. 8 Texas at 1:30 p.m. in the first round of the Big 12 Championship on Wednesday, Nov. 5. The winner of that game will face either two-seed Texas A&M or seven-seed Kansas on Friday, Nov. 7 at 7:30 p.m.
