COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Officials from Mizzou Sports Properties, the multimedia rightsholder of Mizzou Athletics, announced today a partnership with the United States Army to select the U.S. Army Strong Football Player of the Year for the 2008 season.

The award recipient will be determined by Tiger fans through an online and gameday voting process. Fans are asked to select the 2008 football player that they feel best embodies the core values of the U.S. Army soldier: loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity and personal courage.

The award recipient will be selected at the conclusion of the 2008 football regular season and will receive the award at a December home basketball game.
