EUGENE, Ore. - Mizzou junior-to-be Julia Potter (Granger, Ind. / Penn HS) fired a 2-under-par 70 in the second and final round of stroke play Tuesday at the 108th U.S. Women's Amateur at Eugene Country Club. Paired with her opening-round 73, Potter finished in a seven-way tie for sixth place and is one of 64 golfers to qualify for the match-play portion of the tournament.
Sophomore-to-be Lindsey Haupt (St. Louis, Mo. / St. Joseph's Academy) shot a 9-over 81 to finish stroke play in a tie for 105th place in the 155-player field. Haupt carded a 4-over 76 on Monday, and missed a playoff to make the match-play field by five strokes.
Fellow sophomore-to-be Madison Marcolla (Chillicothe, Mo. / Chillicothe HS) finished in 144th place after shooting a 5-over 77 on Tuesday.
Like both of her Tiger teammates, Potter began her day on the 10th hole, and registered birdies on both of the par-5's on the back nine, the 13th and 16th. She then parred the next 10 holes before finishing her round with a bogey on the par-4 ninth.
Potter's first-round matchup and tee time for Wednesday were not immediately available.
