Game Notes:
- Head Coach Gary Pinkel improved his record at Missouri to 41-35.
- Pinkel is now the first Tiger coach to go 4-0 in three seasons at the helm and go 4-0 in two consecutive seasons. The Tigers went 6-0 before their first loss last season and went 4-0 in 2003, before finishing 8-5.
- Missouri scored on its first play from scrimmage on a 57 yard pass from Chase Daniel to William Franklin. The play was the Tigers' longest this season. The previous high was a 40 yard pass, an amount gained twice against Ole Miss. The touchdown was the first time this season that the Tigers scored on their first play.
- The Tigers spread the ball to various different weapons with seven rushers that accounted for 240 yards, 11 receivers for a combined 341 yards and three players with a pass attempt. Along with Daniel, backup quarterback Chase Patton went 2-5 for 31 yards, while wide receiver Tommy Saunders threw the first pass of his career on a completion to Chase Coffman.
- Missouri safety William Moore intercepted a pass by Illinois State quarterback Luke Drone at 6:39 in the fourth quarter, giving the Tigers 12 straight games with a takeaway.
- The Tigers allowed 17 points, the lowest of the season for the defense.
- The Tigers finished with 581 total yards of total offense, giving them 1,200 yards in the last two games combined as the Tigers compiled 619 yards of total offense last week against Western Michigan.

Notes
- In the first play from scrimmage, Daniel's 57-yard strike to Franklin was the longest of the season for both players.
- Temple finished the game with 18 carries for 101 yards for one touchdown. This is the second time this season that Temple has eclipsed 100 yards and the sixth of his career.
- Temple also caught an 11-yard touchdown pass from Daniel with 6:03 left in the first quarter. The touchdown was the first receiving touchdown of his career.
- Missouri's third scoring drive took 11 plays and 2:40 while covering 97 yards, the longest of the season for the Tigers.
- Jeremy Maclin returned a punt 64 yards for his second of the season. With the return Maclin becomes the first Tiger to return two punts in a season since Leo Lewis did in 1975. He is also the fourth Tiger to have two punt return touchdowns is his career. The others are Lewis, John Mosely in 1973 and Don Smith in 1960.
- Maclin gained 238 all-purpose yards. This is the second straight game that Maclin has gained over 200 all-purpose yards. Maclin had 22 yards on the ground, 53 yards receiving and 163 net return yards. Maclin now has 921 all-purpose yards in four games this season.
