Columbia, Mo. -
The always-exciting "I-70 Series" between Major League Baseball's Kansas City Royals and St. Louis Cardinals takes place over the next two weeks, and the University of Missouri football program will take center stage in two of those games to highlight the rivalry between the Western and Eastern parts of the Show-Me State.
Six Tiger football student-athletes with ties to both metropolitan areas will participate in first-pitch ceremonies when the Royals host the Cardinals at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, Mo., this Wednesday evening (June 13th), and also in St. Louis on June 18th, when the teams tangle at Busch Stadium.
Taking part in the festivities will be Tony Temple, Martin Rucker and Chase Coffman of the Kansas City area, and Will Franklin, Darnell Terrell and Hardy Ricks of the St. Louis area. Details are to be ironed out, but the tentative plans call for each of the Kansas City Tigers to throw pitches to the St. Louis Tigers when in Kansas City, and vice-versa when the series travels to St. Louis.
Tickets are still available for both games, and can be purchased online by visiting the official website of each team, with the addresses listed below.
