
Tiger Women in 11th at Spring Opening Tournament

PARRISH, Fla. - - The Mizzou women's golf team opened its spring 2007 season with rounds of 308 and 309 on the first day of play at the Central District Invitational in Parrish, Fla. The 617 total for 36 holes places the Tigers in 11th spot heading into Tuesday's final round.
Freshman Julia Potter led the Tigers on day one with a two-round total of 152 (78-74). Her second round 74 was the best round by a Tiger on the first day of competition.
Junior Madde Augustsson (77-79) and sophomore Ellen Hoeper (76-80) are among a group tied for 42nd place with 36-hole scores of 156.
Senior Stephanie Wavro turned in rounds of 81 and 76 for a 157 total, placing her in a tie for 48th place. Sophomore Chelsea Schriewer finished one shot behind Wavro with a 158 (77-81) total to put her in a tie for 53rd place.
Texas A&M leads the team competition with a 587 total after day one, followed by Michigan State's 593.
The final round of the Central District Invitational will get underway on Tuesday morning.
