Opening Statement
"It was good to see our guys have some adversity, and have the opportunity of a close game. Scott Drew did an amazing job; his team just wouldn't go away. We had the nice lead, we were playing well, and [Baylor] started to score. The one thing I saw in our guys was confidence, and that's what you want to see as a coach. Sometimes you win those games when you don't play great, but our defense was pretty good tonight, I thought. We had some key guys step up at some key times making big plays."
On Keon Lawrence's performance:
"I thought it was one of his better games from start to finish. He had some good things going on not only offensively, but defensively as well. He didn't play like a freshman today. There were a few tell-tales, especially when he lost the ball, but then blocked two shots. I think that's what I'm looking for in Keon. I look for the same thing in other guys; not only that second effort, but that third effort and fourth effort."
On ill-advised shots:
"We talked about it at halftime, so that's why I think you saw get to the free throw line more. We were able to get into the bonus early, and that's how you win a game. It's getting to the free throw line to give yourself easy opportunities."
On Marshall Brown:
"I thought Marshall played well. It was the best that he's played in a while. He's attacking the rim. He was doing things that help you win basketball; he had three blocks, a few assists, so again, that's production you need. It's not all about scoring the big points. It's about our defense, so I thought he was a lot more active tonight. He made key free throws tonight, and you expect that out of a guy like him with all his Big 12 experience."
On Stefhon Hannah playing in close games:
"He made [the shots] tonight. That's the difference. Whether the play is getting the ball to somebody and them getting to the free throw line or stepping up to take the big shot. You need to have somebody to make a play for the play to happen."
