Missouri Head Coach Mike Anderson Post Game Quotes
Opening Statement:
"How about those football Tigers? Wow, what a magnificent win in a great atmosphere. Congratulations to Gary (Pinkel) and his staff, all the players and all Tiger Nation. Now back to basketball, we played five games against very talented teams. I think what you want is to see your team improve over those games. We've talked about getting better defensively with each game by cutting out penetration and closing down the lanes. We worked on a different variety of defenses with half court and full court. We had a better shot selection. Stefhon (Hannah) led the team and got the ball to the people who needed to get it. I think we are improving because our defense is forcing tempo by creating turnovers."
On Leo Lyons being the World's Tallest Guard:
"Well, he thinks that. One thing about Leo is that he is very gifted. He can, if he slows down, make good decisions, and I think that's a luxury we have. As long as he doesn't throw (the ball) away, he's okay. I thought he used (his height) to his advantage. We saw some very good passing out there today."
On if Missouri is ready to play at Arkansas:
"We'll find out. This is going to be another tremendous test. I say that, because we have to go to their place, and we know there will be many, many fans that will come out. This is a game made for TV."
On working with different defenses:
"We didn't want to continue to press, but we wanted to work on our half court defense by getting in the passing lanes, getting to the glass and seeing if we can push it up the court. We worked on match-ups with our zone; just a variety of different things in different combinations with different people out there."
