Mizzou Takes Third at Sycuan Collegiate Invitational

EL CAJON, Calif. - The University of Missouri men's golf team recorded its best finish of the season, finishing in third place at the Sycuan Collegiate Invitational in El Cajon, Calif. The Tigers carded a final round 297 and finished with a 54-hole team total of 899.
Mizzou finished one shot ahead of Cal Poly and New Mexico State. It was nine shots behind second-place San Diego and 15 behind tournament winner Wichita State.
Individually, junior Peter Malnati led the Tigers as he finished tied for seventh place. Malnati birdied his first hole of the day and made six birdies in Tuesday's final round.
Junior Ryne Fisher tied for 26th place with a 54-hole tournament of 227. Sophomore Bud Reynolds finished tied for 33rd spot with a three-round score of 228, one shot ahead of senior Beau Crawford, who's 229 score put him in a tie for 37th place. Freshman Tyler Hillis had a 54-hole total of 232, tying for 49th place.
Next up for Missouri is the Wolverine Intercollegiate, which will be played in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. Nov. 5-6.
