Columbia, Mo - The University of Missouri women's soccer team (9-2-0, 3-0-0 Big 12) moved up to fifth in the Soccer America Women's Top 25 poll for the week of Monday, Oct. 8. The Tigers are off to a 3-0 conference start after shutting out Texas Tech, 2-0, Friday (Oct. 5) in Lubbock, Texas.
Inside the Rankings
-This is Mizzou's highest national ranking in program history
-The team was ranked sixth in last week's Soccer America Poll
-Texas has the top spot on the Soccer America Poll, with an 8-1-2 record
-UCLA, Stanford and Virginia are second through fourth, respectively
-Mizzou is ahead of early-season opponent Santa Clara, who is sixth in the poll

-The Tigers are 10th in the SoccerTimes.com poll, their highest ranking ever in that poll.
-Mizzou is 13th (from 15th) in the Soccer Buzz Top 30 National Poll.
-The Tigers are third in the Soccer Buzz Central Region Rankings, tying the program's highest regional ranking.
-Mizzou is 12th (from 14th) in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/adidas poll. They are second in the Central Region Rankings.
Streaks
Mizzou is on a three-game conference winning streak for only the third time in program history, and they are a perfect 5-0 at home this season. The Tigers' current streak of five wins in a row is only two behind the record of seven, set in the first seven games of the 2006 season.
Tigers are 3-2 Against Top-20
Mizzou earned two victories on the first weekend of conference action, as they upset then-No. 4 Texas A&M and defeated Baylor. In non-conference action, the Tigers beat two ranked teams, then-No. 20 Illinois, and then-No. 19 California. Mizzou also defeated Iowa, TCU, Eastern Illinois and Western Michigan. The only two Tiger losses came away from Walton Stadium against then-No. 1 Stanford and then-No. 3 Santa Clara.
Scoring Goals
The Tigers have scored a conference-high 35 goals on the season, which is already two more than they scored all of last season. In the latest NCAA statistics, which include games up to Sept. 30, Mizzou was tied for third in the nation with 33 goals.
One Away From Eighth 10-win Season
Mizzou's next win would secure a 10-win season, which would be Tiger Head Coach Bryan Blitz's eighth 10 or more-win season of his Mizzou career. Mizzou has earned 10 or more wins in 2006 (10), 2003 (12), 2002 (11), 2001 (13), 2000 (10), 1999 (14) and 1998 (11).
