Tigers Take Third at Moore Intercollegiate

HIGHLANDS RIDGE, Colo. - - The University of Missouri Women's Golf team claimed it's first top-3 finish of the year, taking third place at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate after carding a final round 305 on Tuesday.
Sophomore Chelsea Schriewer turned in the best finish of her career, placing in a tie for 13th spot with a three-round total of 219 (71-72-76). Her 71 in the opening round was a career best for Schriewer and the 54-hole total of 219 is also a new career best.
Junior Madde Augustsson finished tied for 17th place, two shot behind Schriewer with a 221 final total. Freshman Michelle Morgan, who was not in the Tigers' lineup, but competed as an individual, finished in a tie for 23rd in her first career collegiate tournament. She shot a 75 on Tuesday for a three-round total of 223.
Freshman Julia Potter and senior Stephanie Wavro finished among those tied for 29th spot with final 54-hole scores of 226 and sophomore Ellen Hoeper had a three-round score of 234 and tied for 50th place.
The host school Denver ran away with the tournament title with an 849 final score, finishing 18 shots ahead second place BYU and 42 shots ahead of Mizzou.
The Tigers will return to action Oct. 2-3 in the Marilyn Smith Sunflower Invitational in Lawrence, Kan.
