When you're biggest name in the business with a reputation for doing the heavy lifting, people make a good bit of noise when you roll in to town. And that's exactly the case this summer as Toby Keith's Ford Trucks-sponsored Hookin' Up & Hangin' Out Tour powers across North America to the tune of more than 60 roof raising concerts.
The tour, his fourth with Ford Trucks, only adds to the considerable momentum Keith has built in 2006. His already-platinum certified White Trash With Money remains one of country's best selling albums, and the current single "A Little Too Late" landed at #1 on the Radio & Records Country Top 50. With his new tour fans will get a wall-to-wall musical revue headlined by Keith plus special guest Joe Nichols and featuring Rushlow Harris and Lindsey Haun.
New duo Rushlow Harris and newcomer Haun are both signed to Toby's Show Dog Nashville record label, and appear on the soundtrack of Keith's upcoming acting debut. Paramount Pictures' Broken Bridges opened Sept. 8 with Keith playing the lead role of a down-on-his-luck country singer who returns to his hometown and discovers a daughter he has never met, played by Haun. The soundtrack is out now.
Applying his talents to the silver screen is the latest in a career built on bold moves. Since the turn of the century alone, Keith's songs have spent a year at No. 1 on the singles charts, he has sold 25 million CDs (30 million in career sales), and he's one of the most awarded artists in any genre as a singer, songwriter and entertainer.
