Missouri Falls To No. 19 Texas, 7-0

Austin, Texas- The University of Missouri women's tennis team fell to the 19th-ranked Texas Longhorns 7-0. With the loss, the Tigers fall to 10-10 overall and 1-9 in the Big 12 Conference.
This is the final road trip of the regular season for the Tigers, who will return to Texas next week to participate in the Big 12 Championships. The Tigers will be the 11th seed in the tournament.
The match started off with Texas sweeping the Tigers in the three doubles matches. At No. 1 Texas' Mia Marovic and Courtney Zauft defeated Missouri's Yelena Olshanskaya and Chrissy Svetlic, 8-1. At No. 2 doubles, the Tiger duo of Josbena and Pratzel fell in a close match to Texas' Baritot and Strohm, 8-7. At No. 3, Charlotte Bellis teamed with Lubica Nadasska and lost, 8-3.
In singles action, Texas' usual No. 1 singles player did not play, which moved every Texas player up a spot. At No. 1, Usual No. 2 singles player, No. 79 Petra Dizdar, defeated Missouri's Yelena Olshanskaya, 6-2, 6-4. At No. 2, Tiger sophomore Lubica Nadasska fell to Courtney Zauft, 6-3, 6-3.
Both the No. 3 and No. 4 singles matches required a match tiebreak to decide the winner. At No. 3, Missouri's Erika Josbena split the first two sets against Texas' Kendra Strohm, but fell in the tiebreak, 10-5, to lose the match, 6-2, 7-6(4), 10-5. At No. 4, the Tigers' Amanda Pratzel also split the first two sets and fell in the tiebreak, 10-8, to lose her match, 7-5, 3-6, 10-8, to Texas' Kelly Baritot.
At No. 5 singles, Tiger junior Chrissy Svetlic fell to Texas' Ristine Olson, 6-4, 6-2. At No. 6, Charlotte Bellis fell to Marija Milic, 6-4, 6-3.
The Tigers will finish the regular season on Sunday when they face No. 36 Texas A&M in College Station. The Aggies defeated No. 63 Kansas Saturday, improving their record to 13-10 overall and 8-2 in the Big 12. Sunday's match is scheduled to start at 1:30 p.m.
