Missouri cross country runners Michael Barrows and Emily Ramsey have been named the Varsity M/Lathrop & Gage Student-Athletes of the Week for Oct. 9-15, 2006.

Barrows is a redshirt-sophomore who has competed in both races for the Tigers this fall. The Flint, Mich. native collected a fourth-place finish in the season-opening Missouri Cross Country Challenge - a year after finishing second. He is a biological engineering major with a 3.71 grade-point average who turned 21 on Oct. 4.

A junior from Waukesha, Wisc., Ramsey has competed in one meets for the Tigers after redshirting last season following two years at Northern Illinois. She ran in the Missouri Cross Country Challenge and recorded a 17th-place finish. Ramsey has posted a 3.78 gpa in social work.

Both squads will return to action this Friday, Oct. 13, when they travel to Peoria, Ill., for the Bradley Invitational.
