Soccer Nationally Ranked in Four Polls

COLUMBIA, Mo. - After two shutout victories over the weekend, the Missouri women's soccer team is ranked in four national polls this week. The Tigers are ranked No. 11 by Soccer America, No. 14 by Soccer Buzz, No. 15 by SoccerTimes.com and No. 18 by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).

Last week, Mizzou was No. 17 by Soccer America, No. 21 by SoccerTimes.com and No. 30 by Soccer Buzz. The NSCAA did not publish a poll last week.

In addition to the national polls, Soccer Buzz ranks the Tigers third in the Cental Region while the NSCAA has Missouri fourth.

The Tigers are one of five Big 12 Conference schools ranked this week. Texas A&M is third by the NSCAA and SoccerTimes.com, fourth by Soccer America and fifth by Soccer Buzz. The NSCAA has Texas eighth, while the Longhorns are ranked No. 13 by Soccer America, tied for No. 17 by SoccerTimes.com and No. 30 by Soccer Buzz. Colorado comes in at No. 21 and 28 by the NSCAA and Soccer Buzz, respectively, while Soccer America ranks Nebraska at No. 20.

Missouri is a perfect 4-0 on the season with all four wins against Big Ten Conference opponents. Mizzou started the season with a 2-0 win over Iowa and followed it with a 5-0 victory over No. 13 Illinois. This past weekend, the Tigers continued their strong start against Northwestern in a 4-0 win and defeated Minnesota 1-0. With four shutouts to begin the season, the Tigers set a new program record with four-consecutive shutouts.

Mizzou returns home to Walton Stadium with games against Northwestern State and Loyola-Chicago on Friday, Sept. 8 and Sunday, Sept. 10 at 7 p.m. and 1 p.m., respectively. The Tigers then travel to Madison, Wis., for the Wisconsin Invitational the following weekend. In the Invitational, Missouri will face host Wisconsin on Friday, Sept. 15 at 7 p.m. and Wisconsin-Milwaukee on Sunday, Sept. 17 at 10:30 a.m.
