The NCAA Men's Golf Committee announced on Monday that Mizzou has qualified for the NCAA Central Regional, which will be played at the Sand Ridge Golf Club in Cleveland on May 18-20. This is the second-consecutive Regional for the Tigers and the eighth in the program's history.
The Tigers are the 20th seed in the 27-team field at the Central Regional. Oklahoma State is the top seed.
"We're happy to be in Regionals once again," Head Coach Mark Leroux said. "We're two-for-two and hopefully this becomes a yearly event. Our first goal was to get to the NCAA Regionals, now we have our sights on our next goal, getting out of Regionals and into the NCAA Championships."
Mizzou finished tied for 6th at last year's Central Regional, qualifying for the NCAA Championships for the first time since 1986.
Three regional tournaments will be conducted May 18-20 to determine the championships field. A total of 27 teams and six individuals will play in each of the three Regionals. The East Regional will be in Orlando, Fla., and the West Regional will be in Tucson, Ariz. The top 10 teams and two individuals in each regional will advance to the NCAA Championships May 31-June 3 in Sunriver, Ore.
Live scoring of play at the Central Regional will be available on mutigers.com through golfstat.com.
