USA Softball will announce a list of 25 finalists for the USA Softball National Collegiate Player of the Year Award Wednesday, April 5, before narrowing the group to 10 prior to the start of post-season play, May 10. Three finalists will be announced Wednesday, May 31, with the winner of the 2006 USA Softball National Collegiate Player of the Year Award revealed during the NCAA Women's College World Series June 1-7, in Oklahoma City. This year's watch list contains six players among the top 10 finalists for the 2005 award including the 2004 and 2005 winner, Texas pitcher Cat Osterman.
