
Arkansas State To Host Football Game vs. Missouri In Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, MO. - Officials from Arkansas State University and the University of Missouri met with members of the media Tuesday morning to outline details of the season-opening football game between the two schools to kick off the 2005 season.
Arkansas State Director of Athletics Dr. Dean Lee and Head Coach Steve Roberts along with Missouri AD Mike Alden and Head Coach Gary Pinkel addressed the media and answered questions regarding the game. The press conference, held at Arrowhead Stadium's Pavilion, was emceed by RCA Group, Inc. president Russ Cline.
RCA Group, Inc., of Kansas City is handling promotions for the event.
The game, a home contest for Arkansas State, will be played Sept. 3 in the Kansas City Chiefs' home stadium. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. and tickets go on sale April 29. Tickets are $35, $30, $25, and $20.
"We are excited to be a part of hosting this event in Kansas City," said Lee. "The game will be on Labor Day weekend in one of the greatest sports areas in the country.
"I also want to thank the Kansas City Chiefs, the RCA group and Missouri's athletic director Mike Alden for their efforts in bringing this game to Kansas City. I want to encourage Kansas City fans to come out and be a part of the Chiefs and the Indians."
This game marks the first time ever for Arkansas State to play in Arrowhead and the first time in 60 years for Missouri to play in Kansas City. Following the press conference, groups from both schools toured Arrowhead and met with stadium officials.
"I would like to welcome everyone to Kansas City and thank both universities for their willingness to participate in this event at Arrowhead Stadium," said Kansas City mayor Kay Barnes. "It will be a great event."
