
No. 13 Tigers Take Texas Tech in a Sweep

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The No. 13 nationally-ranked Missouri women's volleyball team swept Texas Tech (11-13, 4-9 Big 12), 30-18, 30-18, 30-19, on Wednesday night in the Hearnes Center. The Tigers (17-3, 11-3 Big 12) recorded nine service aces on the night, accompanied by a .343 hitting percentage to defeat the Lady Raiders for the seventh-consecutive time. Senior Shen Danru led the Tigers with 12 kills with sophomore Na Yang adding 11.
Junior Nicole Wilson scored on a season-high five service aces, adding five kills. Junior Abbie Booth recorded 12 digs; sophomore Tatum Ailes added nine.
The Tigers jumped to a 6-0 start off the serving of Wilson. After a Tech timeout, Wilson recorded her first of five aces to give the Tigers the early lead. Mizzou never looked back, hitting .300 in the frame on 13 kills, holding Tech to a -.083 percentage.
In game two, Tech grabbed their only lead in the match with two-consecutive points in the opening serves. Mizzou proceeded to go a 8-1 run to take the lead for good.
In game three, Mizzou scored on 21 of the stanza's first 30 points and won 30-19, ending the game with a three-point run.
The Tigers are next in action Saturday, as the team will travel to Oklahoma to play at 4 p.m.
