
#32 Mizzou Falls to #23 Nebraska

Columbia, Mo.--Facing their second conference opponent of the season, the #32 ranked Mizzou Tigers fell to #23 Nebraska 195.575-196.800. Despite the loss, Mizzou saw season high marks on three apparatus, as well as a slew of season and career records by various members of the Tigers squad.
Seeing its finest performance of the season, the Tigers set a precedent for excellence in the first rotation scoring a 49.000 on vault. Paving the way, Mizzou saw three Tigers hit career high marks, while four competitors vaulted to season high finishes.
Delivering an exemplary performance, Mizzou continued to impress seeing its highest score of the year on the uneven bars. Hitting six of six routines for the first time this the season, the Tigers scored a 48.900 to overtake Nebraska's, the South Central uneven bar leader, 48.800 team total.
Faltering slightly on beam, Mizzou recorded its lowest marks of the evening with a 48.450 tally. Despite counting a fall, the mark is Mizzou's second highest beam total of the season. Adding glint to the rotation, the Tigers saw commendable performances including one career and four season high routines.
Getting back on track in the final round, Mizzou finished the meet with a stellar performance on floor scoring a season high 49.225, including three career and five season high exercises.
Tallying an impressive all-around final, Ashley Khederian recorded her second highest career finish scoring a 38.500. The newcomer broke out with her finest showing of the season scoring a career high 9.775 vault. She kept her momentum through the second rotation, putting up a 9.725 career high.
Stumbling for the first time this season, Khederian turned in a solid performance on beam but scored a heartbreaking 9.150 taking a fall during her dismount. Shaking off her third rotation blunder, Khederian jumped back in scoring a third career mark delivering a 9.850 floor routine.
Keeping to a standard setting season high marks, Alisha Robinson kicked off the meet scoring a 9.900 on vault. Moving onto bars she kept the precedent scoring a team high 9.850. Suffering a bobble on beam, Robinson received a disappointing 9.250 on beam. Despite the setback, the senior reemerged in the final rotation scoring a 9.325 to rally a 38.400 all-around total.
Trampling her season vault high, Lauren Schwartzman opened the meet scoring a 9.825. Picking up in the third rotation, the beam specialist led the team scoring her second season high of the evening with a 9.900. The junior rounded out the meet scoring a second 9.900 on the evening to record a third season high mark.
Performing an exhibition routine, Kelley Andersen scored a 9.725 to set a career high on the apparatus. Maintaining her momentum in the second rotation, Andersen scored a 9.825 to reach another season milestone. Rounding out her meet, the three event competitor added a final highlight to her evening delivering a season high 9.825 beam performance.
Foreshadowing good things to come, newcomer Julie Abaray opened the meet scoring a career high 9.750 on bars. Keeping to a record setting regimen, the freshman launched the Mizzou beam rotation on a high note scoring 9.775 to set another career high. Going 3-for-3, Abaray scored a 9.800 on floor to round out the competition with career high marks across the board.
Continuing her success as one of Mizzou's most consistent competitors, sophomore Whitney Crater turned in another harrowing performance scoring a 9.725 on vault and delivering a career high 9.850 floor routine.
Seeing strong performances across the board, the Tigers single event competitors did their part to bolster Mizzou's season high team total. Tiger junior Sarah Zigler gave additional support contributing a career high 9.775 on vault before turning in a 9.725 season high to bolster the Tigers on the uneven bars.
Performing her first uneven bars routine of the season, 2005 Cat Classic Bar Champion Jodie Heinicka gave Tiger fans a glimpse of what to expect this season when she scored a solid 9.750.
Keeping pace on balance beam, sophomore specialist Amanda Pezzullo tied her season high scoring a 9.700.
Returning to the road, the Tigers look to carry their momentum when the team travels to Pennsylvania next week to face Penn State and New Hampshire in the Penn State Invitational on Friday, February 5 at 7:00 p.m. (EST). Mizzou returns to the Hearnes Center on Friday, February 11 when the Tigers host the Illinois Fighting Illini at 7:00 p.m.
