Columbia, Mo. - In support of their new studio album "Don't Tread On Me," 311 will perform Wednesday, August 10 at the Amphitheater at Mizzou. After 14 years of consistent touring, 311 has developed a reputation as one of the hardest working, most influential and most entertaining live bands in the U.S. Because of their unique sound, 311 has developed a rather diverse fan base ...rock, punk, jam-band, pop, hip-hop and reggae.

Originally from Nebraska, 311 was formed by a group of five friends in 1990 by Nick Hexum, Chad Sexton, S.A. Martinez, Tim Mahoney and P-nut. The quintet signed their first major record label when they moved to Los Angles in 1991.

The band has released several albums including Music (1992), Grassroots (1993) and their self-titled 1995 album, which climbed to number 12 on the Billboard's 200 Top Selling Albums chart and number eight on Heatseakers Album charts. After a year of touring, they produced six more albums, including Transistor (1997), Live (1998), Sound System (1999), From Chaos (2001) and Evolver (2003) before releasing its Greatest Hits 1993-2003 (2004).

Alternative metal band Papa Roach released their first full-length album, Old Friends From Young Years (1997), to a surprising following of local Californian fans. Three years later, the band added the entire nation to its fanbase with the release of Infest (2000), which went triple platinum and sent the single "Last Resort" to number one on Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart. Papa Roach followed up with lovehatetragedy (2002) and Getting Away With Murder (2004) and added "She Loves Me Not," "Getting Away With Murder" and "Scars" to their list of Top Five hits. Papa Roach band members include Jacoby Shaddix (vocals), Jerry Horton (guitar), Dave Bucker (drums) and Tobin Esperance (bass).

Southern Californian punk rockers Unwritten Law broke onto the punk rock scene in early 2002 with the release of Elva and their debut single "Seein' Red," which rocketed to the number-one spot on Billboard's Top Modern Rock Singles chart and MTV's Total Request Live. The band went on to release Top 20 singles "Up All Night," "Rest of My Life" and "Rescue Me." Their most recent album, Here's To The Mourning (2005), is climbing the Billboard charts. Unwritten Law members include Scott Russo (vocals), Steve Morris (guitar), Rob Brewer (guitar), Pat Kim (bass) and Tony Palermo (drums).

Reel Big Fish were one of the legions of Southern California ska-punk bands to edge into the mainstream following the commercial success of No Doubt and Sublime. Like most of their peers, the band was distinguished by their hyperkinetic stage shows, juvenile humor, ironic covers of new wave pop songs, and metallic shards of ska. The group cultivated an underground following that broke into the mainstream in the summer of 1997, when their single "Sell Out" became a modern rock radio and MTV favorite.
