Missouri wrestling Head Coach Brian Smith announced today that Nick Marable of Memphis, Tenn., is the 10th grappler inked for the upcoming 2005-06 campaign.
A senior at Christian Brothers High School, Marable claimed the Tennessee state title in 2004 and 2005 at 152- and 160- pounds, respectively, earning All-America honors in 2001 and 2002 while competing at the National High School Coaches Association (NHSCA) Wresting Championships. Marable was named the Tennessee Outstanding Wrestler of the Year as a sophomore in 2003, the same year he claimed Cadet National Champion honors at 145-pounds.
Expected to compete at 165-pounds for the Tigers, Marable is the first wrestler in six years to hail from Tennessee and is one of only four 2005-06 wrestling signees from outside the state of Missouri.
