Columbia, Mo.- The #48 Missouri tennis team continues Big 12 Conference action this weekend hosting the Texas A&M Aggies in a weekend match Sun. April 3 at 1:00 p.m.
The Tigers are looking to return to their winning ways after dropping two matches last weekend to #14 Baylor and Texas Tech. Missouri also looks to improve upon its nine match home win streak.
Missouri continues to be bolstered by the depth of its lineup. With many talented players the team utilizes the talent of veterans and newcomers in various positions. The play of newcomer Carolyn Kramer has aided the Tiger effort this season. She has teamed with Katka Sevcikova to form a formidable No. 1 doubles team which has compiled a 12-4 record this season.
In singles play, senior Katka Sevcikova continues to lead the Tiger charge. She holds a 10-8 record on the season and has defeated ranked opponents in Indiana's Dora Vastag and Nebraska's Gitte Ostermann. The sophomore class of Yelena Olshanskaya and Erika Josbena is also aiding the Tiger effort. The two pair to make a powerful doubles duo and each boasts quality singles victories.
Missouri continues its three-match home stand hosting Big 12 Conference rival Kansas State on Fri., April 8 and Border War opponent Kansas on Sat., April 9. All matches are held in Green Tennis Center and are open to the public.
