High School Pentathlon | More Missouri Track Meets
COLUMBIA, Mo. - University of Missouri track and field team is set to host the annual Missouri Relays this weekend over two-days, April 2-3. The meet will feature both high school and college teams on all levels, and from all across the Midwest. Events get started Friday with the high school pentathlon at 10 a.m., followed by mostly high school field events at 2 p.m. and track events starting at 2 o'clock as well. The meet is not scored.
The Competition Field
The field for this year's Missouri relays includes many colleges and high schools from the Midwest. On the collegiate side, the schools vary in affiliation, ranging from NCAA Division I to NCAA Division III to NAIA. Here's a complete list of the collegiate field with their affiliations: Baker (NAIA, Baldwin City, Kan.), Central Methodist College (NAIA, Fayette, Mo.), Central Missouri State (NCAA-D2, Warrensburg, Mo.), Concordia University (NCAA-D2, St. Paul, Minn.), Drake (NCAA-D1, Des Moines, Iowa), Drury (NCAA-D2, Springfield, Mo.), Independence Comm. Coll. (NJCAA, Independence, Kan.), Iowa [Men] (NCAA-D1, Big Ten, Iowa City, Iowa), Lincoln University (NCAA-D2, Jefferson City, Mo.), Missouri Southern (NCAA-D2, Joplin, Mo.), Missouri Valley (NAIA, Marshall, Mo.), Tulsa (NCAA-D1, WAC, Tulsa, Okla.), Wisconsin-LaCrosse (NCAA-D3, LaCrosse, Wisc.), Wartburg (NCAA-D3, Waverly, Iowa).
Lincoln University's women are coming off a national indoor championship. The Lincoln Tiger men finished fourth in national indoor competition.
For the high school division local teams such as Columbia Hickman, Jefferson City, and Helias are set to add to the competition.

Missouri traveled last weekend to the Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif. ... 14 Tigers earned NCAA regional qualifying marks ... three added NCAA provisional marks in the 10k ... sophomore Ashley Patten finished as the No. 1 collegian in the 800 meters and her personal-best time of 2:05.43, is currently No. 2 in the country ... sophomore Tim Ross finished the 5000-meters in a time of 14:12.23, making him the second-fastest in Missouri history in the event ... sophomore Chase Hall also jumped to second all-time at Mizzou with an NCAA provisional qualfiying time of 29:29.12 in the 10k ... sophomore Serena Ramsey also surged to No. 2 in school history in the women's side of the 10k iwth a time of 34:44.63, a provisional mark ... other regional marks were claimed by Amanda Bales (1500m), Matt Noonan (Steeple), Jesse Sims (High Jump), Valerie Lauver (10k, provisional), Jill Petersen (5000m), Katherine Bonugli (1500m) ... The National Ranks
Ten Tigers, six of which are sophomores, enter the weekend having top ten performances in the nation. Patten comes into the weekend as having the No. 2 800 meter time in the country with a 2:05.43 mark. Amanda Bales ranks third in the nation in the 1500m (4:25.10). Shot putter Conrad Woolsey is ranks fourth in the nation (61-10?). Serena Ramsey's time of 34:44.63 in the 10k is currently No. 5. Jessica Stockard's score of 5,138 in the heptathlon is also No. 5 in the country.
