SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Senior Michael Radek (Chicago, Ill. / St. Ignatius HS) fired a two-under-par 69 - his best final-round performance of the season - in the last of three rounds at the Roadrunner Intercollegiate in San Antonio, Texas. Radek was tied for 47th place coming into the final round at Oak Hills Country Club, yet his 69 bested his previous third-round low score by two strokes and vaulted him into a tie for 22nd.
As a team, the Tigers shot an aggregate 292 in the final-round to improve to a sixth-place finish. Mizzou finished just a stroke behind Rice, with whom the Tigers were tied heading into the final round.
Sophomore Ben Scott (Lancashire, U.K.) had Mizzou's best finish on the weekend, as well as his best finish of the season, after a final-round 72 put him in a tie for 11th at 218. Scott's previous best finish was 22nd at the Jim Colbert Intercollegiate.
Freshman John Kelly (St. Louis, Mo. / Christian Brothers College HS) carded a final-round 75, and earned his first top-20 finish since the Colbert by placing 17th in San Antonio.
Among the other individuals, senior David Jenkins (Springfield, Mo. / Glendale HS / SMS) carded a 76 on Tuesday to finish in a tie for 60th, while freshman Trent Twaddle (Maryville, Mo. / Maryville HS) closed the tournament with an 87 in finishing 82nd.
The Tigers will enjoy a quick turnaround, as Mizzou heads next Monday and Tuesday to the Bayou to compete in the Louisiana Classics at the Oakbourne CC in Lafayette, La.
