Missouri's 13-7 win over Middle Tennessee was their first win in NCAA Tournament play since 1991. The Tigers defeated Jacksonville and Furman in the 1991 NCAA East Regional.

Middle Tennessee
This is the second time that Middle Tennessee has played in an NCAA Regional in Starkville, with the only other time coming in 1988. The Blue Raiders' two losses in this year's regional came against the same two teams that defeated them in 1988. Missouri was the team to eliminate Middle Tennessee both times.
With 12 strikeouts in the game, Middle Tennessee has struck out 10 or more times in 18 games this season.
Middle Tennessee starting pitcher John Williams had his shortest outing as a starter this season after being chased from the game in the second inning.
Freshman shortstop Jeff Beachum went 2-for-4 in the game to extend his hitting streak to 10 games.
