Missouri Head Coach Quin Snyder
"They saw our Oakland game and wanted to make us make decisions by making us play in the half court and changing defenses on us. That is two games in a row that we had 14 turnovers in the first half. I thought we got better as the game went on. They were going to make us work all the shot clock at times. When we had a breakdown they made us pay every time. We are not there yet."
On Missouri Senior Guard Rickey Paulding:
"Sometimes early in the year you have an expectation of how things are going to go. We need to get out and play. We scheduled the way that we had to schedule. We are still playing over Thanksgiving and Christmas, and those couple of days that we took off we are not back from yet."
On playing Indiana
"Well, we are not all of the sudden going to become a different team. We need to play better. You saw some really good defense, and they opened the floor up on us defensively."
Coppin State Coach Ron Mitchell
On the outcome of the game:
"If you're saying we're a real bad team and they're supposed to play better, I say that's great. But I don't look at my team as being a bad team. We played at Xavier, and we've played at Cincinnati, and this is Missouri, so it's nothing major for us. It's our seventh game, and their second game, so they have some wrinkles, but that's what the early part of the year is for. They prevailed and found a way to win, you can't take that away from them."
On Missouri's ranking:
"Put it this way. I voted on them, and put them at #5. They're still, to me, a Top-10 Team. They have a lot of talent, but today, they saw a defense that they don't normally see. If that's the case, then they need to make adjustments. I guarantee they'll make adjustments. Quin [Snyder] is an excellent coach, he'll make the adjustments. It's their second game, and they have a long way to go."
On defending Rickey Paulding:
"We were well aware of Paulding. He is a tremendous player, and we knew we had to concentrate on him. But we also knew we had to concentrate on Johnson. So we knew where they were most of the time. We're not looking at how Missouri can be, we're looking at how we can be."
