The Missouri volleyball team moved up three spots in the latest USA Today/AVCA Top 25 released on Monday. The Tigers have climbed into a tie with Ohio State at No. 18, marking the highest ever ranking for a Tiger team. The previous high was No. 19, which Mizzou reached twice last season.
The Tigers were ranked in the preseason Top 25 for the first time in school history, coming in at No. 21. They climbed up in the latest poll after going 3-0 at the Quality Inn Tiger Invitational to take the tournament title last weekend at the Hearnes Center.
Two other Big 12 Conference schools are in the Top 25 with Nebraska at No. 5 and Kansas State at No. 14. Texas A&M and Texas received votes in this week's poll.
Mizzou will be on the road for the first time in 2003 next weekend as it travels to Salt Lake City for the Utah Classic. The Tigers open up play in the tournament at 6 p.m. on Friday against Utah Valley State.
