COLUMBIA, Mo. - The University of Missouri football game against Kansas, scheduled for Sept. 27 in Lawrence, Kan., has been chosen for telecast as part of the Big 12 Conference television package, officials from FOX Sports Net announced this week.
The game, which will kick off at 11:30 a.m. from KU's Memorial Stadium, will be shown nationally by FOX Sports Net. It will mark the 111th meeting between the two teams in the series, which stands at 53-49-8 in favor of the Tigers. Missouri has won each of the last two meetings with Kansas - 38-34 in Lawrence in 2001, and 36-12 last year in Columbia.
It will be the second of three guaranteed TV appearance for the Tigers, who will open their 113th season of football in an ABC regional broadcast against Illinois. That game is slated for an 11:00 a.m. start at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis.
ABC's broadcast of Mizzou's regular-season finale against Iowa State will originate from Columbia at noon on Nov. 29. Additional TV appearances may take place over the course of the season according to the league's traditional 12-day announcement window.
