Columbia, Mo. -- Missouri Basketball Head Coach Quin Snyder and his wife Helen are pleased to announce that the Q Foundation, a non-profit educational organization, will be contributing $10,000 to the Starlight Program this year. The Q Foundation, which was founded in the summer of 2002 by the Snyders, is designed to assist young men and women in achieving life sustaining educational experiences and academic support endeavors.

The Starlight program is an endeavor that was started last year by the University of Missouri School of Education that works to provide literacy enhancement to elementary aged children. Through the program, Missouri student-athletes are able to model literacy activities, such as reading, writing, listening, and speaking to students throughout the entire state of Missouri via video-conferencing. The Q Foundation's financial assistance will help to keep the Starlight Program up, running and financially secure.

"We are really enthusiastic about the opportunity to be involved in such a broad-reaching educational program for the young people of Missouri and hope that the Starlight Program will continue to flourish." Helen Snyder said.
