Columbia, Mo. - University of Missouri football fans will have a chance to grab a piece of Faurot Field, literally, next week as the Department of Athletics will make available for free chunks of sod from the field. Beginning Monday, April 14th at noon, and continuing through noon Wednesday, April 16th, fans can pick up sod taken up from Faurot Field, as MU begins its project that will convert the field from natural grass to an artificial surface.

Those interested in picking up sod can do so from noon to 8 p.m. on the 14th in the concourse level of the stadium, underneath the East stands. Access will be available through gate 3E. Pick-up will continue at the same spot from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on the 15th, and from 8 a.m. to noon on the 16th.

Sod will be available for non-commercial use only, and there will be a per-person limit in effect, as well. The giveaway is also weather permitting. Should inclement weather persist during the aforementioned time period, alternate plans will be announced at a later date.
