COLUMBIA, Mo. -
The University of Missouri will be represented at the 2003 Women's Swimming NCAA Championships by three Tiger swimmers. Juniors Sarah Lo, Andrea Nigh and Rebecca Wolfe will travel to Auburn, Alabama for the NCAAs on March 20-22. This is the most swimmers that Head Coach Brian Hoffer has sent to the NCAAs at one time.
"I'd be lying if I didn't say I was excited about this," said Hoffer. "All three girls deserve this, they've been training hard all season and it's nice to see it payoff for these three."
Wolfe qualified for the NCAAs in the 200 butterfly. Her time of 1:59.82 in the 200 fly originally was a provisional qualifying time, but was good enough to make the NCAAs. The two-time Big 12 Champion in the 200 fly and school record holder in the 200 fly will be competing in her second NCAAs. She was a 2001 All-American for Nebraska in the 200 fly.
Lo, is the school record holder in both the 100 (55.39) and 200 (1:59.40) backstroke and her career best times that she set at the Arkansas Invite were both good enough for the NCAAs. This will be Lo's first NCAA Championship. Last season she provisionally qualified.
Nigh is the school record holder in both the 50 (23.16) and 100 (50.20) freestyle and will compete in both at the NCAAs. Like Lo she set her NCAA qualifying times at the Arkansas Invite. This to will be Nigh's first NCAA, last season she provisionally qualified, but her times did not make the cut.
