
Roughton, Endicott Sign With MLB Clubs

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Jody Roughton and Drew Endicott, members of the 2002 University of Missouri baseball team, chose to sign with professional teams instead of returning to MU for their final seasons of eligibility.
Roughton, a junior infielder from Carthage, Mo., was a 24th-round selection of the Detroit Tigers in the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft on June 5. He agreed to terms with the Tigers on Friday (June 7).
Roughton led the Tigers with 60 runs batted in and 18 doubles in 2002 - his lone year with the club after transferring to MU from Maple Woods (Mo.) CC.
Endicott, a junior pitcher from Carthage, Mo., was a 41st-round pick of the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday. He agreed to terms with the Royals on Friday.
Endicott led the 2001 team in strikeouts and posted a 3-1 mark in 2002.
