
Women's Golf Hands Out Postseason Awards

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The University of Missouri women's golf team officially closed out its season by handing out its postseason awards. Coach Stephanie Cooper announced the team's MVP, Newcomer of the Year and Outstanding Senior awards on Tuesday.
Junior Elin Ohlsson was given the Johnie Imes MVP Award. Ohlsson was the Tigers' top performer all season and advanced to the NCAA Central Regional, finishing in a tie for 27th place out of 108 golfers. She had a 78.05 strokes per round average and finished in the top 20 in four of MU's six spring tournaments.
Ohlsson's sister, Maria, was named the Newcomer of the Year. She finished the spring with an 80.88 stokes per round average which was third best on the team. She turned in a season-best 75 in the second round of the Big 12 Championships.
The Outstanding Senior Award was given to Nisha Sadekar. Sadekar finished her career at Mizzou by finishing in a tie for 18th at the Big 12 Championships. She had a stroke average of 79.88 in the spring and a 77.00 strokes per round average last fall. Last fall, she turned in her best career finish, placing third at the Alabama Capstone Intercollegiate Tournament.
