COLUMBIA, Mo. - Just like it was during the fall practice sessions, pitching has risen to the forefront for the Missouri baseball team. On Wednesday, Garrett Broshuis (Fr., Advance, Mo.) had seven scoreless innings on the mound while his counterpart, Justin James (Fr., Yukon, Okla.) struck out eight batters in seven innings.
The game, played at Taylor Stadium/Simmons Field, ended in a 2-2 tie.
Jayce Tingler (Jr., Smithville, Mo.) drove in a run with two outs in the ninth inning before stole a base and scored on a hit by Jody Roughton (Jr., Carthage, Mo.). Cody Ehlers (So., Stillwater, Okla.) hit a home run in nine-inning contest.
In other news, the Missouri baseball program will hold its annual media day following Sunday's practice. The media are invited to attend and film (if needed) the Tigers' intrasquad game and interviews will follow. The game is scheduled to end around 4:30 p.m.
