Missouri head coach Cindy Stein
On the play of Wannette Smith:
"Wannette started out the game real well for us in the first half and then she just kind of faded. A lot of that is being unfamiliar with that kind of role and how to continue but obviously the presence of Evan had been so crucial for us and we've got to find somebody else to fill that role. I was extremely pleased with our effort. And that's something that had been lacking...that kind of effort and determination for 40 minutes."
"We still have those little breakdowns, and when we do, a team like Iowa State is going to pick us apart. The key for us is once again putting 40 minutes together where we're not making the stupid mistakes."
Missouri senior guard Natalie Bright
On playing against Iowa State's defense:
"It's hard with Iowa State, you know your going to have to knock down the threes because they play a good zone. It's hard to get penetration, they covered the lanes very well. They collapse on penetration, so the only thing open is the three-point shot. You knock down some, but hopefully we can knock down more. When we can have an inside-outside game, it opens everything else up."
On tonight's effort:
"I think we showed a lot of good effort tonight. The effort hasn't been there in the past 3 or 4 games. You can tell on the floor we were playing really hard. It's a young team, and to show good effort like that tonight it's a positive thing and we're just going to have to build on that. Iowa State is a good team, and with that effort it should get us though the Big 12 tournament."
Missouri junior guard Kerensa Barr
On MU's performance:
"Yeah, we're having trouble scoring points. It happened against (Texas) A&M and then it happened tonight again, but our defense kept us in it. You know even in the second half I thought we played pretty good defense, we're just having a tough time scoring."
