
Missouri Soccer Players Honored by Big 12 Conference

Columbia, Mo.-The Mizzou women's soccer program has a lot to boast about, in addition to finishing the regular season ranked fourth in Big 12 Conference standings, the Tigers have had several athletes earn league honors.
Sophomore Melissa Peabody was named to the All-Big 12 second team as one of the leagues' top forwards. After leading the conference in shooting throughout the 2002 season, Peabody ranks second on the team with nine goals, nine assists and 27 points. She also set the Mizzou single-season shot record making 95 attempts.
In addition, five Tigers were named to the academic All-Big 12 first team, while two received second team recognition. Carrie Crossett, Suzy Probst, Adriene Davis, Stephanie Krawczyk and Lacy Moore earned first team accolades while Angela Furin and Kristen Heil were both selected to the second team.
Bolstered by its successes, Missouri faces Colorado in the first round of the Big 12 Tournament on Thurs., Nov. 7 at 1:30 p.m. The winner of the MU-CU game will then take-on the victor in the Texas A&M-Oklahoma State match on Fri., Nov. 8 at 5:00 p.m. The Big 12 Tournament championship game is scheduled to be played on Sun. Nov. 10 at 1:00 p.m. All games will be played at Blossom Stadium in San Antonio, Texas.
