KIRKSVILLE, Mo. -

The Tiger women's swimming started off slow in their dual meet against Truman state, trailing the Bulldogs by 20 points after five events. The Tigers regrouped however and women pulled off a hard earned victory, 122-83. In a meet that was alot closer than the final score indicated, the Bulldogs showed why they are the favorites to win their third straight NCAA Division II Championship.

"They're (Truman State) a very good team, they have some strong swimmers and are well coached. I told our teams to not let up because they're a division II team and for the first ten events that happened," said head coach Brian Hoffer. "Fortunately we responded after the strong 400 individual medleys by Matt Ferrarelli and Rebecca Wolfe."

Wolfe won the 400 IM with a time of 4:31.95 outtouching the Bulldog's Kelli Dudley (4:32.31). The Tigers responded to Wolfe's efforts to win the next six events to close out the meet. Including taking the top three spots in the 100 breaststroke, with Leslie Hoh (1:06.83), Mariona Costa (1:07.03) and Tiffany Bohon (1:07.23), to seal the victory.

Other top finishers included Liz Schoborg winning the 100 butterfly (57.46). Andrea Nigh and Ellen Cross finishing first and second in the 100 freestyle. Sarah Lo and Amanda Morford doing the same in the 100 backstroke. Katy Chandler winning the 500 freestyle (5:01.35) and Wolfe placing third with a time of 5:03.13. The team of Cross, Morford, Lindsay Palbykin and Nigh winning the 400 freestyle relay (3:31.53). Palbykin also added a second place in the 200 freestyle (1:55.08).

The #21 ranked women's team kept their dual meet win streak alive and extended it to 17 duals. The are now 7-0 in dual meets this season.

The team will next compete at the Minnesota Invitational on November 22-24 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The next dual meet will be against Kentucky on December 7 in Lexington, Kentucky before starting their winter training. The next home meet is on January 18 against Southwest Missouri State.

NOTES FROM THE DECK: The Tiger diving team did not compete because Truman State does not have a diving team or diving facilities...The Tiger's 200 Medley relay "A" team was disqualified to start off the meet, breaking Andrea Nigh's unbeaten streak. However she is still undefeated in individual events, winning her seventh straight with her 100 freestyle victory
