The University of Missouri men's and women's cross country teams had a successful day today at the 30th Annual Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational. The 20th ranked Tiger women won for the third straight time this year. Freshman Amanda Bales captured her first individual title of the year. Bales, a native of Bettendorf, Iowa ran the 5K course in a time of 17:13. She was followed by her teammate Valerie Lauver who ran a time of 17:29. The Mizzou women took 4 of the Top 5 positions, 7 of the Top 10 positions and 10 of the Top 17 positions. Tigers Serena Ramsey (4th), Amy Chipman (5th), Kim Moore (7th), and Katherine Bonguli (8th) all recorded Top 10 finishes. The Tiger women finished 43 points ahead of second place Kent State and were first amongst 51 teams.
The Missouri tiger men finished second to Loyola University improving on their seventh place finish last week in New York. Tiger freshman Tim Ross finished fifth with a time an 8K time of 24:54, less than a second ahead of teammate Ryan Hampton. Ross and Hampton were the top two Tiger finishers last week. The Mizzou men finished amongst 52 teams.
