Missouri Soccer Defeated By Duke

Durham, N.C.-The University of Missouri women's soccer team picked up its first loss of the season in a devastating 3-2 game to Duke tonight. The Tigers were outshot by the Blue Devils 19-to-7 in the match.
Duke placed themselves on the board first with a goal in the 28th minute when Carly Fuller capitalized on an assist by Margaret Lea. The Tigers returned 19 minutes later to tie up the score. Freshman midfielder Lacy Moore headed in a pass from defender Mandy Waters to tie the first period 1-1.
The Tigers returned to the second half, with ferocity quickly scoring within the first five minutes of play. Adriene Davis scored her third goal of the season when she stole a pass from a Blue Devil defender and dribbled the ball in for the score.
Forward Casey McCluskey won the game for the Blue Devils scoring back-to-back goals. She sent her first shot in unassisted and scored her second from an assist by Sarah Pickens.
Goalkeeper Megan Duncan picks up her first loss of the year taking her season record to 3-1. She made nine saves in the game and allowed three goals. Adding to the Missouri defensive effort, Moore, Waters, Carrie Crossett and Kim Hibbert each put in team saves for the Tigers.
Sophomore forward Adriene Davis was red carded in the second period. She will consequently be benched in Missouri's upcoming game against North Carolina on Sun., Sept. 23 at 1:00 p.m., EST.
