
Men's Golf In 9th Place at Stevenson Ranch Invitational

Stevenson, Calif. - The University of Missouri men's golf team shot two rounds of 313 as a team, and stands tied for 9th place after two rounds of play at the Stevenson Ranch Invitational, held in Stevenson, Calif.
The Tigers' team score of 626 through two rounds left them tied with Illinois State and Iowa State for 9th place in the 14 team field. The trio is five shots back of 8th-place Kansas State, and nine back of Nebraska and Southwest Missouri State, who are tied for 6th. Kansas leads all teams with a two-round score of 597. The final round will be played Tuesday.
Individually, junior Mark McBride shot rounds of 77 and 76 Monday to lead Mizzou competitors with a two-round score of 153, which puts him in a tie for 22nd place overall. He's just three shots out of the top ten, and trails leader Jason Higton of Pacific (1st - 141) by 12 strokes.
Three shots back of McBride is sophomore Shawn Fleming, who is tied for 30th. Fleming opened play with a 75 in the morning round, but slipped a bit with an afternoon 81 for his 156 total.
Freshman Michael Radek shot rounds of 78 and 79 for a 157 total which left him tied for 36th place after Monday's play, while fellow freshman Brandon Knaub posted scores of 83 and 77 for a 160 which tied him for 47th. Junior Chris Happ rounded out the Tiger lineup, as he shot identical rounds of 84, and is in 70th place heading into Tuesday's final round.
