Cody Ehlers walked to load the bases before Wes Fewell hit a shot off of Tim Hartshorn for a single and drive in both Williams and Weiss for a quick 2-0 lead. Baylor answered with four hits and a walk to tie the score at two after one.
The game turned into a pitcher's dual between MU's Drew Endicott and Baylor's Steven White as both hurlers blanked the opposition for the next seven innings.
Both teams had chances in the ninth as Ehlers walked for the third time in the contest. Ryan Rallo came in as a pinch-runner but was stranded. In the bottom half of the inning, Hartshorn reached on an infield single. He was erased on a fielder's choice by Mote. Mote came around to score the winning run on a double by Durbin. Durbin's hit found the left-center field gap and gave Baylor the win.
