Scoring first not a good omen: For the first time this season, Missouri scored the game's first basket. And for the third-straight time in Missouri's season, the team scoring first lost. The quick 2-0 start was not enough for the Tigers, who suffered a 72-60 loss to South Carolina. The Tigers scored only three field goals in the first-half's final 10 minutes, including one with four seconds remaining.
Cold, then hot: Missouri turned things around after suffering from a shooting slump in the first half. Missouri was 8-of-26 (30.8) in the first half but turned things around in the second half, making 16-of-31 field goals (51.6) percent.
Three points: Evan Unrau made her first collegiate 3-point field goal with eight minutes and 12 seconds to play. She proceeded to make her second one exactly one minute later.
Long time, no free throws: Missouri attempted only one free throw in the first half and that attempt came with 3:17 to play in the first stanza. Missouri's next foul shot came with 3:55 to play in the game when Kerensa Barr stepped to the line and made two. MU attempted only eight free throws in the game. The Tigers shot 28 against UMKC and 31 against SMS.
