
Tigers Continue Homestand With The Tiger Invitational

Sophomore Christian Cantwell provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships with his 65-11.5 effort in the weight throw. Also putting up impressive numbers for the 23rd-ranked Tiger women in the first meet of the season was freshman Lyndsey Tait, who set the school's indoor pole vault record. Tait's mark of 11-0 placed her in a three-way tie for first. Sophomore Fiona Asigbee won the long jump while setting a personal best. Her 19-0 effort broke her old best by almost a foot. Senior Michelle Moran picked up a win the high jump (5-4) and sophomore Avis Evans took first in the 60m dash (7.81) and the 200m dash (26.47).
Seniors Phil Councilor and Ada Ibe also picked up wins for Mizzou at the Missouri Invitational. Councilor recorded a time of 4:12.88 in the mile and Ibe turned in a time of 1:28.78 in the 600 yd run. Sophomore Stewart Kimball won the 1000m (2:32.40) while fellow sophomore Kerry Hils won the mile (5:00.87). Junior Heather Whitehead won the shot put and set a career-high mark of 42-2.75.
The Tigers will track powers Oral Roberts, Indiana State, Tulsa and Big 12 Conference rival Kansas.
