Amelia Moses Named to NGCA All-American Team

June 4, 2001

Columbia, Mo. - The University of Missouri women's golf team had two individuals earn prestigious honors today, as senior Amelia Moses and sophomore Elin Ohlsson were named to the National Golf Coaches' Association (NGCA) All-American teams. Moses becomes MU's first-ever All-American.

Moses, who recently closed out her brilliant Tiger career, was named an NGCA Honorable Mention All-American. The Coronationville, South Africa native steadily became one of the best Tigers to ever tee it up for Mizzou, and she set school records for season (75.03) and career (76.67) stroke average. Moses became MU Women's Golf first-ever conference champion when she claimed the 2000 Big 12 championship. She narrowly missed becoming the league's first-ever repeat champ this season, as she was defeated for the 2001 title in a playoff.

Ohlsson was named to the NGCA All-Scholar team, based on her 3.65 grade point average in industrial engineering. Ohlsson also excelled on the course this season, as she averaged 77.91 strokes per round - nearly a full stroke better than her freshman season, and second-best on the squad. She notched the first top-10 finish of her career this past season, and ended the year with two finishes in the top-10, and three in the top-20.
