AUSTIN, Texas - The University of Missouri softball team found its first win in Big 12 Conference play Sunday as it downed Texas 6-3 in the second of a two-game series.
Texas took a 3-0 lead in the first inning but that frame would be the last time the Longhorns crossed the plate.
Erin Erickson drove in two runs in the fourth inning and Jeni Schellert added a two-run single later in the inning to give Mizzou a 4-3 lead.
Rachael McGinnis drove in another run with a sacrifice fly in the fifth before scoring in the seventh inning to round out the scoring.
Missouri improved to 21-18 overall with the win. The Tigers play Iowa State Wednesday in a 2 p.m. doubleheader.
