Football Open House/Select-a-Seat Set for Saturday

Columbia, Mo. - University of Missouri football fans will have the chance to experience first-hand what seats remain available for season ticket purchase tomorrow (Saturday, August 19th) when the Athletic Department will hold Mizzou's Open House, in conjunction with its annual Select-a-Seat event at Faurot Field. The promotion will be followed by a public scrimmage and autograph session by the Tiger football team.
The purpose of the Select-a-Seat event is to offer Tiger fans the best season tickets still available in Memorial Stadium for the upcoming season. Seats that are available for purchase will be marked for fans to check out for themselves.
Gates open for the event at 1:00 p.m., and a myriad of activities are planned for the day. Fans will be treated to free Domino's Pizza and Coca-Cola, and will have an opportunity to tour the new $13.1 million press box facility until 5:00 p.m. Live radio remote broadcasts and other activities are planned, as well.
Prior to the event, the Tiger Team Store, MU's souvenir store located in the North rim of the stadium concourse, will hold a grand re-opening with special sale prices on all items. The Tiger Team Store has become Columbia's exclusive retailer of authentic Mizzou team apparel, and will have authentic jerseys and helmets available for the first time at the event. The Team Store will open at 10:00 a.m., and remain open all day.
The evening will be capped off by a public scrimmage by the MU football team, scheduled for 6:00 p.m. The Tiger players will be available for autographs following the scrimmage, at approximately 7:30 p.m.
The 2000 Missouri football season opens Sept. 2 when the Tigers host Western Illinois at 6:30 p.m. Season tickets are also available by calling 1-800-CAT-PAWS or 884-PAWS locally.
