COLUMBIA, Mo. - University of Missouri swimmer LESLIE HOH failed to advance in the 200 individual medley at the United States Olympic Trials in Indianapolis, Ind. on Friday morning. Hoh, a sophomore from Charlotte, N.C., turned in a time of 2:26.93, well off her personal best.
The 19-year old swimmer is the first qualify for the U.S. Olympic Trials since MU Head Coach BRIAN HOFFER took over the program nine years ago. Although Hoh did not turn in the times that she would have liked, Hoffer feels that the experience will go a long way down the road.
"I am real proud of Leslie," said Hoffer. "Obviously, she wasn't able to post the times that we were looking for, but the experience of being at Olympic Trials will really help her once we get the season going at Missouri. We're disappointed, and we will fix some of the things that went wrong this week, but Leslie's head is still high, and she will be ready to go when we get going in October."
