GTE Announces District VII All-America Team

Distance runner Ann Marie Brooks was one of 10 student-athletes selected to the District VII GTE Academic All-America First-Team, GTE announced yesterday. The team is comprised of student-athletes competing during the fall and winter seasons and was voted on by members of CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America). The 10 first-team members will be eligible for voting at the national level.
This honor is the second GTE Academic All-District award for the junior from St. Joseph, Mo. Brooks is no stranger to athletic and academic honors. She is a three-time All-Big 12 member, cross country All-Region V member and an Academic All-Big 12 selection.
Brooks is currently competing with the Tigers at the Florida Relays in Gainesville, Fla.
