
Missouri Sweeps Big 12 Rookie-of-the-Week Honors

COLUMBIA, Mo.- Not only did both Missouri's men's and women's basketball teams sweep two Big 12 road games this week, they also swept the Big 12 Rookie-of-the-Week awards. Freshman Kareem Rush was named the men's Big 12 Rookie-of-the-Week while Amanda Lassiter took the honor on the women's side.
Rush started the week with 15 points in a 86-81 win at Colorado. The Kansas City, Mo., native then scored a career-high 21 points in the Tigers' 84-78 win at Nebraska. For the week, Rush averaged 18 points on 60.9 percent shooting from the floor.
Lassiter earned the Big 12's top rookie award for the third time this season. The 6-1 junior from San Francisco, Calif. scored a career-high 30 points while recording nine rebounds, four blocks, four assists and two steals at Oklahoma State in a 77-73 Missouri victory. Lassiter added 11 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals in a 72-68 win at Kansas State on Saturday.
